COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) has selected 728 programs from 450 institutions to the Scholar All-America Team for the Fall 2021 semester, including four women's and three men's Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference teams.
Colorado College, Southwestern University and Trinity University had both their men's and women's programs receive recognition. The University of the Ozarks women's team also earned Scholar All-America recognition.
For Colorado College, it marks the 16th consecutive semester that both programs have received CSCAA Scholar All-America Team status. For Trinity University, it is the 11th consecutive semester both programs have been honored and it is the seventh straight for Southwestern University.
The teams were selected on the basis of their Fall grade point averages and represent 18,029 student-athletes. To be selected as a CSCAA Scholar All-America Team, programs must have achieved a grade point average of 3.00 or higher over the fall semester.
On the women's side, Colorado College, led by head coach Anne Goodman James, had the 12th-highest GPA among the 177 Division III teams listed for All-America honors, with a 3.71. Trinity University, led by head coach Cathleen Pruden, followed with a team GPA of 3.58 and Southwestern University, led by head coach Jon Duncan, was close behind with a 3.44 team GPA. University of Ozarks, led by head coach David DeGeus, recorded a team GPA of 3.31 over the fall 2021 semester.
The Colorado College men’s squad ranked as the fifth highest among the 124 Division III teams with a GPA of 3.71. Trinity University followed with a 3.44 team GPA and Southwestern University followed with a 3.21 team GPA for the fall 2021 semester.
