GREENWOOD, Ind. -- Three Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) men’s student-athletes were named to CoSIDA's Academic All-District At-Large Team for their performances both on the court, in the pool and in the classroom, it was announced last week.

Colorado College’s Sam Hum and Cole Thumann, along with Trinity University’s Cameron Krimbill were named to the 2020-21 Academic All-District® 8 First Team and now are eligible for Academic All-America consideration.

Hum, who graduated in May with a bachelor's degree in computer science, recorded a 3.93 grade-point average during his four-year career while playing on the men's tennis team.

This past spring, Hum posted a 3-2 record at the No. 1 singles position and was an all-SCAC selection. He defeated SCAC foe and 2019 all-SCAC selection Vesko Lekovic, 6-3, 6-3, for his first victory of the season, then wrapped up the campaign with victories over Christian Albrechtsen of Division II Colorado Mesa and Matthew Stephenson of Texas Lutheran, both by a 6-2, 6-2 score.

Hum, from San Diego, Calif., received the SCAC's Elite 19 Award, which is presented to the student-athlete who has completed the equivalent of at least 60 credit hours, has at least a cumulative 3.25 GPA, and earned all-SCAC first- or second-team honors that season.

Thumann, meanwhile, will enter his senior season on the men's swimming team with a 4.00 GPA as a physics major.

He earned all-SCAC honors as a member of the third-place 400 freestyle relay team at the 2021 SCAC Championships in February. Thumann also finished fourth in the 400 IM and sixth in the 200 IM at the SCAC meet.

The Katy, Texas, native has received several scholarships during his time at CC for academic success and volunteers with Special Olympics and Habitat for Humanity.

Krimbill, the 2021 SCAC Men's Tennis Player of the Year posted a 3.79 grade-point average in pursuit of an accounting major while he led the Tigers as the line-one singles mainstay to their team national championship tournament berth and a No. 6 final ranking by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.

Krimbill was recently announced as a SCAC Man of the Year finalist on July 2. The award recognizes the conference's senior male student-athlete who has best distinguished himself throughout his collegiate career in the areas of academic achievement, athletic excellence and service and leadership. Krimbill also served his community at the St. Mary's Food Bank, Tiffany's House of Hope, and the San Antonio Children's Hospital. On campus, he participated in the TU Smashers program that offered free tennis clinics to San Antonio youths.
