BEN LAIDLAW OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a sophomore from Breckenridge, Colo., has been selected the SCAC Men’s Swimmer of the Week for performances during the meets swam Friday, January 15 to Sunday, Sunday January 17.
Laidlaw registered three wins and three runner-up finishes last weekend in a pair of dual meet victories over Ozarks and Austin College. Against the Eagles, Laidlaw won the 100-back in a time of 57.65 and swam a leg on the second-place 200-medley and 400-free relay teams. On Saturday against the ‘Roos, he won the 200-back in a time of 2:09.04 and led off the winning 400-medley relay time.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Junior Nicolai Van Zyl of Ozarks won the 100-free in a time of 50.90 in the dual meet against Colorado College and then won the 200-breaststroke against McMurry with a time of 2:24.67. Sophomore Brayden Reeves of McMurry earned his first collegiate win in a dual meet against the Ozarks hitting the wall first in the 50-free with a time of 23.99.
