Georgia Mullins, Colorado College, Offensive Player of the Week (Week 5)

GEORGIA MULLINS OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a junior middle hitter from Olathe, Kansas, has been named the SCAC Volleyball Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, March 15 through Sunday, March 21.

Mullins was virtually unstoppable, hitting .600 with 25 kills on 40 attempts during CC's two-match sweep of Texas Lutheran last weekend. She began the weekend with 12 kills on 23 attacks for a .478 hitting percentage during Friday's 25-21, 25-10, 25-17 win. She also had three digs and a hand a pair of block assists. In Saturday's 25-25, 15-12, 25-10 victory, Mullins put down 13 kills on 17 swings without an error while posting a career-best .765 single-match hitting percentage. It marked the fourth time this season Mullins finished a match without a hitting error. She also finished with a hitting percentage above .350 for the seventh match in a row and reached double-digit kills for the fifth time in the six five matches.

Her current .398 season hitting percentage is good for second in the SCAC and would rank second on the program's single-season list. 

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior outside hitter Avery Tuggle of Trinity led the second-ranked Tiger volleyball team to a pair of shutout home wins against the University of Dallas on Saturday. Tuggle led the team in kills in both matches, tallying 23 (3.83 per set) total for the weekend. She also recorded her best two hitting performances (.500 and .400) of the season on Saturday. Sophomore middle blocker Riley Brantley of Southwestern had 25 kills on an efficient .302 hitting percentage through nine sets, averaging 2.78 kills per set. She also had five total blocks and had 30 points to lead the Pirates in two wins over St. Thomas. First-year middle blocker Caroline Richmond of Centenary was outstanding in the Ladies' season-opening home conference matches against Schreiner. She totaled 27 kills and 15 digs as Centenary took a 3-2 victory in game one before fallling 3-1 in the second match. She entered Saturday's play third on the team with 55 digs and ranked second in kills with 48. Junior right side Alyssa Ajlouny of St. Thomas had 18 kills, two service aces and two assists in the Celts two matches against Southwestern over the weekend. She chipped in defensively with 25 digs and four block assists.
