BRIDGET HANLEY OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a first-year attacker from Alexandria, Va., has been named the SCAC Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, April 12 through Sunday, April 18.
Hanley was the offensive catalyst for Colorado College with four goals, 12 assists and 16 points during victories over Southwestern and Dallas last weekend. In Saturday's 18-3 win over the Pirates, Hanley recorded a goal and what then was a season-high four assists. She also posted three caused turnovers and a pair of ground balls. During Sunday's 22-0 victory over UD, the first-year attacker set the program record with 11 points and matched the standard of eight assists to ignite the CC offense. Hanley scored two of her three goals during the first eight minutes as the Tigers bolted to a 6-0 lead, then set up eight of 12 goals in a run that began with 19:17 remaining in the first half and ended 12:33 remaining in the game.
Hanley's 11 points are one more than the mark first set by All-American Mary Everett 22 years ago to the day - April 18, 1999 - against Kenyon College, and later matched twice by All-American Steph Kelly against both Concordia-Wisconsin and Augustana College during the 2016 season. Kelley's record of eight assists also was set during the 20-13 victory at Augustana on May 1, 2016. Hanley leads the Tigers with 17 assists, is second with 26 points, and tied for fifth with nine goals.
