Five Women's, Four Men's Swimming & Diving Programs Earn CSCAA Scholar All-America Honors

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) has selected 803 programs from 479 institutions to the Scholar All-America Team for the Fall 2022 semester, including five women's and four men's Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference teams.

Colorado CollegeUniversity of the Ozarks, Southwestern University and Trinity University had both their men's and women's programs receive recognition. The McMurry University women's team also earned Scholar All-America recognition.

For Colorado College, it marks the 18th consecutive semester that both programs have received CSCAA Scholar All-America Team status. For Trinity, it is the 14th consecutive semester both programs have been honored and it is the eighth straight for Southwestern. Ozarks saw both its programs honored for the second time in the last four semesters.

The teams were selected on the basis of their Fall grade point averages and represent 19,426 student-athletes. To be selected as a CSCAA Scholar All-America Team, programs must have achieved a grade point average of 3.00 or higher over the fall semester.

On the women's side, Colorado College, led by head coach Anne Goodman James, had the 13th-highest GPA among the 184 Division III teams listed for All-America honors, with a 3.70. Trinity, led by head coach Cathleen Pruden, followed with a team GPA of 3.64 and Southwestern, led by head coach Jon Duncan, was close behind with a 3.60 team GPA. McMurry, led by head coach Arthur Wang, recorded a team GPA of 3.45, followed by Ozarks, coached David DeGeus, posted a team GPA of 3.42 over the fall 2022 semester.

The Colorado College men’s squad ranked as the 11th highest among the 141 Division III teams with a GPA of 3.70. Trinity University followed with a 3.40 team GPA and Ozarks (3.32) and Southwestern (3.01) rounded out the SCAC honorees.

Founded in 1922, the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) – the first organization of college coaches in America – is a professional organization of college swimming and diving coaches dedicated to serving and providing leadership for the advancement of the sport of swimming & diving at the collegiate level.
