JASPER BROAD OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a sophomore goalkeeper from Miami, Fla., has been named the SCAC Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week from Monday, October 23rd through Sunday, October 29th. SCAC Men's Soccer Release (Week 9)
Broad did not allow a goal as the Tigers wrapped their perfect SCAC regular season with wins at Austin College and Dallas last weekend. The games were his fifth and sixth solo shutouts of the season as Broad added five more saves to bring his season total to 39, fifth most in the SCAC. Broad’s efforts helped the Tigers earned the outright regular season SCAC Title, secure the first unbeaten and untied conference season in program history and the first by any league team since 2014.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore defender Raghav Sharma of Southwestern scored the game-winning goal in the Pirates’ critical SCAC Tournament clinching victory over Texas Lutheran last Saturday night. Sharma and the defense held onto a one goal lead late in the second half to collect all three points and earn the No. 3 seed going into the SCAC Tournament.
