MEMPHIS, Tenn. - On the strength of two first half goals, top seed and host Rhodes College won its third straight Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference field hockey championship with a 4-0 win over third seeded Centre College on Sunday afternoon. Box Score | Official Site

Rhodes becomes the first team in league history to win three consecutive SCAC field hockey championships. Rhodes also won the school's fifth SCAC title. The Lynx won league titles in 2004, 2006 and 2009-2011.

First-year forward Kat Simpson started the scoring with an unassisted goal with just over 23 minutes left in the first half. The lead was extended to two thanks to a goal from senior foward Taylor Mills with just over nine minutes left in the first half.

In the second half, Rhodes added a goal from junior forward Katie Faucher off an assist from senior foward Libby Jones.

Sarah Kennedy took a Regan McLaughlin feed off of a penalty corner and found the back of the net to make it 4-0.

Rhodes held a 15-11 shot advangtage.

Rhodes improved to 11-6 while Centre finishes its season at 11-8.
