Two From SCAC Named To Division III Football Senior Classic Rosters

SALEM, Va. - Two senior football student-athletes from the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference were named to the 2011 Division III Football Senior Classic rosters, the organization announced.

Millsaps College's Jordan Nolan along with Sewanee: University of the South's Zac Atkins were named to the South team.

Nolan, a defensive back from Hardin, Texas, totaled 70 tackles in 10 games while ranking in the top-10 of the league in passes defended (0.80/game - 7th in SCAC). He also added 4.5 tackles for loss. He was named to the All-SCAC first-team for his efforts in 2011.

Atkins, a linebacker from Dallas, Texas, totaled 55 tackles as well as 3.5 sacks in helping lead Sewanee to a 5-5 overall record. Sewanee's five wins were the most since 2005 when the Tigers also went 5-5. Atkins earned All-SCAC second-team honors as a junior in 2010.

The game is organized by the Collegiate Development Football League (CDFL) and brings senior players together in a North vs. South All-Star game format. The game will be played Friday, December 9 at Salem Stadium, site of the Stagg Bowl - the NCAA Division III national championship game venue.

The 2011 game will be broadcast live, nationally on Fox College Sports as well as webcast and archived at www.knoxivi.com/d3classic.
