LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Southwestern University junior forward Annie Bourne has been selected as SCAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week for her efforts this past weekend.

ANNIE BOURNE
OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a junior forward from
Dallas, Texas., has been selected the SCAC Women’s Basketball
Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, November 25th
through Sunday, December 1st.
Bourne averaged 18.5 points per game and 12.5
rebounds this week while posting two double-doubles in two
games.
She shot 51% from the floor (14-27) and 40% from three point range
(2-5).
Bourne had 11 points and 15 rebounds in a win
over UMHB while adding two blocks and a steal in a terrific
defensive effort.
The following night against Division II Southern Arkansas,
Bourne scored 26 points on 10-of-14 shooting and
2-of-3 from behind the arch. She also pulled down 10 rebounds and
added a steal in a two point loss.
Bourne currently leads the SCAC with 65 total
rebounds and is second in the conference in rebounding average at
10.8 per game.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore forward
Brittany Stepanski of Austin College averaged 16.5 points,
6.5 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks per game and hit 14-of-26 shots from
the field as the ‘Roos went 1-1 on the week. Freshman guard Haley Deshautelle of
Centenary led the Ladies with 17 points – one shy of
her career-high set earlier this season as she has now recorded
back-to-back contests in double figures and is second on the team
in scoring. Junior guard
Courtney Tyus of Colorado College averaged 17.5 points, 6.0
assists, 5.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals last week against Carleton
College and Otterbein University in the 2013 Colorado College
Thanksgiving Classic. Sophomore guard Kelsie Jackson of
Schreiner led the Mountaineers to a 1-1 week with 26 points
(13 ppg), 14 rebounds and five assists. She had 18 points and 7
rebounds in the victory over Hardin-Simmons. Freshman guard/forward Kristen Fye of
Texas Lutheran scored a career-high 15 points and matched
her career-high in rebounds, with 10, in an 84-61 home win Saturday
over NAIA school Northwood (Texas). Junior guard Hannah Coley of
Trinity averaged 16.7 points/game and 5.0 assists/game to
pace Trinity’s offensive efforts, as well as picking up four
steals and eight total rebounds in the three games. Dallas was idle this past
week.
