Trinity Favored to Repeat as SCAC Champions in 2013-14

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - In exclusive balloting by SCAC women's head basketball coaches, defending league champion Trinity University was tabbed as the preseason favorites to capture the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference title in 2013-14.

Trinity University headlined the annual poll of head coaches and is favored to win the SCAC title. Head coach Cameron Hill and his Tigers earned seven of eight first place (coaches could not vote for their own team) votes to go along with 49 points to take the top spot.

Last year's runner up, Southwestern University, took the remaining first place vote for 43 points to finish second. Austin College (34 points) and the University of Dallas (28 votes) made up the top half of the poll, finishing third and fourth respectively.

Rounding out the rest of the poll is new SCAC members Texas Lutheran Univesity (23 points) and Schreiner University (18 points), followed by Collorado College (17 points) and Centenary College (12 points)

Trinity looks for its second straight SCAC championship and the program's fifth title in the SCAC era (since 1991-92). The Tigers became the first team in their school's illustrious history to finish the conference season undefeated, going a perfect 15-0 and on their way to the NCAA Tournament.
