Unlike the previous two years, however, the Bulldogs had to fight back out of the loser's bracket to get to championship Sunday. And if TLU is to three-peat at SCAC champion, it will need to defeat Trinity twice tomorrow.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Texas Lutheran scored runs in every inning except the 2nd to eventually put away Centenary.
- A four-run sixth inning clinched the game for TLU as two-run single by Newcomer of the Year Kaymee Gooden provided the final cushion.
- Veny Pizana came in relief of Taylor Grissom in the 2nd inning and held Centenary to just three hits and no runs.

- Texas Lutheran is trying to become just the third team to win three consecutive SCAC softball championships. Trinity won four straight from 1999 to 2002 and then three straight from 2005-2007.
