LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Texas Lutheran University's Taylor Grissom, Amanda Lochte and Nicole Snow have been named First Team Academic All-District selections by CoSIDA. Full Release

Grissom was named 2016 SCAC Pitcher-of-the-Year for the third straight year after leading the Bulldogs to their third consecutive conference title. She was also named to the Academic All-American team last year. The Spring, Texas native has a 3.92 GPA in education. Grissom finished the regular season with a perfect 16-0 record, 1.31 ERA and help opposing bats to a .220 average. She tossed 40 strikeouts and nine complete games. 

Lochte was named to the All-SCAC second team as a pitcher and has a 4.00 GPA in exercise science. This is her first Academic All-District honor. She closed out the regular season with a 1.25 ERA for a 12-1 win/loss record. She led the team with two saves and held opposing bats to a .208 average on a team-best 58 strikeouts. 

Snow, also a first time Academic All-District honoree, was an All-SCAC first team selection and has a 3.76 GPA in accounting. Snow hit .408 with a .592 slugging percentage, scoring 31 runs and driving in 46. She posted 12 doubles, two triples and two home runs on the year and had an OBP of .479.

To be eligible for Academic All-America® consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director. Since the program's inception in 1952, CoSIDA has bestowed Academic All-America honors on more than 20,000 student-athletes in Divisions I, II, III and NAIA, covering all NCAA championship sports.

First-team Academic All-District ® honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
