Texas Lutheran Softball Holds in NFCA Top 25

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Texas Lutheran softball team held on to their No. 3 ranking in the latest National Fastpitch Coaches Association Top 25 for NCAA Division III.

The NFCA Division III Top 25 Poll is selected by Division III head coaches representing the eight NCAA regions.

Despite having their 49 game conference win streak snapped in the final game against Southwestern last weekend, the Bulldogs outscored the Pirates 42-15 to go 3-1. TLU now sits at 29-2 overall and 15-1 in conference play.

TLU's bats are led by senior first baseman Taylor Yancey who posts a team-best .489 batting average and a .734 slugging percentage with a .533 OBP.

The trio of junior Amanda Lochte, senior Taylor Grissom and junior Veny Pizana continue to be solid for the Bulldogs each posting top five ERA's and opposing batting averages in the SCAC.

The Bulldogs will face the University of Dallas this weekend.
