LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - The eighth and final week of Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference volleyball regular season concluded this week with seeding now set for next week’s quarterfinal round.

No.1 Colorado College (14-0 SCAC) posted a pair of 3-0 wins over Centenary to lock up the tournament’s top seed. Isabella Vasquez put down a season-high 14 kills, completing her fourth double-double of the season, and added 12 digs to lead the Tigers in match one. Isabella Lipacis added 11 kills, seven digs and four blocked shots, while Georgia Mullins finished with 11 kills, five digs and three total blocks. In the team’s second match victory, Vasquez recorded her fifth double-double of the season with a team-high 11 kills and 11 digs. Mullins finished with 10 kills, hitting .421 on 19 swings, and had a hand in six of the team's nine blocked shots. The No. 1-ranked Tigers finished atop the conference standings for the seventh time since it began competing in the SCAC in 2007, which includes four times sharing the top spot. Colorado College plays host to the University of Dallas in a quarterfinal match of the SCAC tournament next weekend.

Texas Lutheran (5-11 SCAC) went 4-0 over the week with a pair of victories over Schreiner and Dallas. In the Bulldogs’ 3-2 and 3-0 wins over the Mountaineers on Tuesday, Hayden Smyers led the team with 15 kills in the early match, with Madison Weisinger and Tanyse Moehrig adding 13 and 11 kills, respectively. Kacie Hall and Adrienne Galaviz combined for 52 assists and Lexi Morris recorded 27 digs and served a match-high six aces in the win. In the late match, Weisinger hit .500 for the Bulldogs with 10 kills and just two errors in 16 attempts. In Saturday’s sweep of Dallas, Weisinger once again led the way for TLU as she collected 11 kills overall and served five aces in a row during the second set. Lexi Morris registered 26 digs in the late match and served two aces. The Bulldogs claimed the No. 6 seed and will play at Southwestern in the quarterfinal round of the upcoming SCAC Championship. After dropping to 3-11 in SCAC play this season, Dallas will be the No. 8 seed and travel to Colorado College for quarterfinal play.

Schreiner (4-12 SCAC) split its Saturday double-header with St. Thomas, winning match one 3-1 before falling 3-2 in the second match. The Mountaineers’ Kayla Lofland finished with a game high 20 kills while Brooke Byer had 15 and Amanda Combs finished with 14 kills. St. Thomas’ (7-7 SCAC) Alaina Lanik recorded her ninth kill of the game in the final set, giving the Celts the 3-2 win over the Mountaineers on Saturday. The Celts will play in their first SCAC Conference Tournament next week as a No.5 seed, traveling to Austin College for the quarterfinals. Schreiner claimed the No. 7 spot and will travel to No. 2 Trinity.

Southwestern (8-4 SCAC) split its games over the weekend with a 3-1 victory over Austin on Friday. Lauren Crabtree led the Pirates with her fifth triple-double of the season, scoring a match-high 14 kills on a blistering .400 hitting percentage to go with 15 assists and 14 digs. Austin College (8-6 SCAC) earned the split with a 3-2 win over Southwestern in the late match. Riley Abernathy came up big for the 'Roos, posting 14 kills and adding 13 digs while boasting a .353 hitting percentage. Olivia Linton had 12 kills for the 'Roos, and Mari Prazak led the way defensively with 24 digs. The Pirates claimed the No. 3 spot with Austin College as the No. 4 seed in the upcoming SCAC Championship.

The 2021 volleyball tournament will be played on campus sites around the league with the top four seeds hosting quarterfinal round action beginning this weekend. First round play will be conducted the weekend of April 16-17, semifinals are scheduled for April 23-25 and the championship will occur the weekend of April 30-May 2.
