Indianapolis, Ind. – Tiger women's soccer senior Lindsey Peng has been awarded a prestigious NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship.

The NCAA awards up to 126 postgraduate scholarships annually with 21 men's and 21 women's awards presented each of the fall, winter and spring sports. The $10,000 scholarship is available for use in an accredited graduate program.

This is the third straight year that Trinity has had a student-athlete earn the award, as women's basketball player Abby Holland received the scholarship in 2020, and women's soccer player Chelsea Cole took the honors in 2019.

Peng has led Trinity's women's soccer team to two Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships and the Tigers have advanced to the SCAC Tournament Semifinals in pursuit of a third conference crown in the spring of 2021. Trinity is 8-0-0 in this shortened spring season, which sprung up after the fall season was cancelled due to COVID-19.

In addition to being co-captain of the Tigers, she is also a member of the American Medical Student Association (AMSA), Dr. Jonathan King's research lab in the biology department, and the SPURS sorority. She has been selected for the SCAC Fall Academic Honor Roll three times in her career and has made the Dean's List for four semesters.

Peng was a First Team All-SCAC selection in 2018, then later was named the SCAC Tournament Defensive Most Valuable Player after leading the Tigers to the SCAC Championship.

Trinity will be back in action this weekend, taking on tournament host Texas Lutheran University at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 23. The winner advances to Saturday's championship game at 1:00 p.m.
