ANIYAH BURKE OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a first-year guard from Cedar Park, Texas, has been named the SCAC Women’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, January 16 through Sunday, January 22. SCAC Women's Basketball Release (Week 11) 

Burke was instrumental in the Pirates snapping a five-game losing streak and securing a pair of key SCAC home overtime wins last weekend, defeating Austin College on Friday and Dallas on Saturday. She opened the weekend with 19 points, eight rebounds and two assists in the win over the ‘Roos and then returned to pour in a career-high 28 points in the win over the Crusaders. She connected on a remarkable 51.5 percent from the field (17-of-33) over the weekend, including 42.9 percent from three (6-of-14). In addition to her scoring prowess, Burke also added 7.0 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 1.5 assists per game to help lift the Pirates to a pair of games over .500 in SCAC play.

Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore guard Dymon Drumgo of Centenary had a solid weekend for the Ladies in a pair of road games in SCAC play, averaging 11.0 points per game against Trinity and Schreiner. Drumgo scored 10 and added five rebounds in 19 minutes at Trinity on Friday and followed that up with 12 points and another five boards in 32 minutes against the Mountaineers. She also combined for three steals and two assists in the two games. Drumgo has now reached double figures seven times this season, five coming in conference play. Sophomore guard Demauria Miles of Schreiner continued her torrid month, averaging 25.5 points per game in a pair of wins last weekend for the Mountaineers. Miles connected on 53.1 percent of her shots from the field (17-of-32), including 52.6 percent from three. She also added 4.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.0 steals per contests as well. Freshman guard Lauren Sansano of Texas Lutheran stuffed the stat sheet for the Bulldogs and stood out amidst two impressive team wins, averaging 11.5 ppg in addition to 3.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.5 steals. She recorded a career-high five assists against Dallas. Junior guard Maggie Robbins of Trinity led the Tigers to a pair of home wins in SCAC play over the weekend, extending the team's streak to 19 straight wins to open the season. Robbins averaged 10.5 points, 7.5 assists, and 8.0 steals per game over the weekend, despite playing just 26.5 minutes/game. She capped the weekend with her first career triple-double and the first for a Trinity player since the 2009-10 season. Robbins had 12 points, a career-high 12 assists, and tied her career-high with 10 steals in the win over St. Thomas. It marked the first SCAC triple-double since January 26th, 2019.
