Poerschke led Southwestern to an 87-85 win over McMurry, scoring a career-high 23 points and pulling down a career-high 19 rebounds. He followed that up with another double-double against Hardin-Simmons, scoring 20 points with 15 rebounds and three assists. For the week, he averaged 20.3 points and 14.0 rebounds per game, shooting 48 percent from the field. He's currently averaging a double-double with 20.5 points per game and 12.3 rebounds per game.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore guard Braeden Board of Centenary scored a career-high 17 points on 6-for-9 shooting in the Gents season-opening, 87-77m victory last week against Arlington Baptist. Board also added six rebounds, three steals and one assist in the win. Freshman Adrian Price of Colorado College scored a season-high 19 points and matched his best of nine rebounds in the Tigers’ 94-74 loss to Oglethorpe last weekend. Price also chipped in with three blocks and one assist and one steal in the loss. Senior guard Alex Dehoyos of Schreiner posted three-straight 20 points contests last week, averaging 22 points on 57.1 percent shooting to lead the Mountaineers to a 1-2 record. Dehoyos also added 4.7 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 3.0 steals per contest. Senior guard Cameron Gims of St. Thomas averaged 10.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.5 blocks, 2.5 steals and 1.5 assists to lead the Celts to a perfect 2-0 mark to open the season with wins over East Texas Baptist and Arlington Baptist last week. Gims shot 41.7 percent from the field, including 85.7 percent from the line. Junior guard Kaleb Jenkins of Trinity led the Tigers to a pair of wins last week and a perfect 3-0 record to start the season for the first time since the 2007-08 campaign after averaging 14.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game in road wins over Hardin-Simmons and McMurry. Jenkins was outstanding in the win over McMurry with 22 points.
