Scott Wilson, Southwestern University, Defensive Player of the Week (Week 9)
SCOTT WILSON OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a senior midfielder from San Antonio, Texas, has been named the SCAC Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for games played through Sunday, October 31st. SCAC Men's Soccer Release (Week 9)

Wilson had a massive game on both sides of the ball last Friday night against TLU, keeping Southwestern within striking distance after falling behind, 1-0, early in a game the Pirates needed a result to secure their spot in the SCAC Tournament. The senior controlled the midfield and limited a Bulldog offense that was averaging nearly three goals per contest to just the one early strike allowing the Pirates to warm to the task and tie the game late, taking control of their own postseason destiny. Then with a SCAC Tournament spot secured, Wilson put an exclamation mark on the night by delivering the game-winning goal in overtime to vault the Pirates into a top-three spot on the league table.
