Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior goalkeeper Sami Borchalli of Centenary continued his impressive season by earning a pair of victories this past weekend at home and made history in Friday night's 2-0 victory over Ozarks in the process. The senior recorded his 11th-career shutout, which now gives him the most shutouts in the division III era (2011-present) in program history. Borchalli was injured just seconds before halftime in the Gents' 2-1 win over Huntingdon but still managed to make a pair of saves in his 44:16 of action. Borchalli has an 0.54 GAA for the season along with 13 saves and a pair of shutouts. He entered Friday's match second in the conference in goals against average (0.45) and is tied for seventh in saves (5) and lowered his GAA to 0.31 after Friday's win and now has 11 saves. Junior defender Joshua Newlin of Schreiner secured up a Mountaineer defense that allowed just two goals last week and led the team to its first result of the season a 1-1 tie against Howard Payne. Junior goalkeeper Caleb Weed of Texas Lutheran made two saves and didn’t allow a goal in 45 minutes of action last week as the Bulldogs earned 4-0 non-conference win over Howard Payne. Senior defender Brady Johnston of Trinity played exceptionally well last weekend and anchored a Tiger backline that only gave up one goal in two fixtures. Johnston won nearly every header and managed to clear any big threat that came near the box. Johnston and the defense held Hardin-Simmons to just one goal in a 2-1 win and shut out UT-Dallas in a 1-0 win.
