Nathaniel Blake, Southwestern University, Offensive Player of the Week (Week 1)
NATHANIEL BLAKE OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a freshman forward from Helotes, Texas, has been named the SCAC Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for games played through Sunday, February 28th.

Blake scored the game-winning goal in the Pirates’ victory over Texas Lutheran, recording two points and securing three big points in the league standings. The win marked the first time since 2017 that Southwestern has opened the season with a victory.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior midfielder Miles Montgomery of Colorado College factored in three of CC's four goals in the first two games of the season. He scored the Tiger’s first goal and set up the other against Division II Colorado Christian University in the season opener. In Saturday's 2-1 win over St. Thomas in the SCAC opener for both teams, Montgomery set up Alexander Ward's game winner with 32 seconds remaining in regulation time with a perfect feed into the box after taking a short corner. Senior midfielder Chase Reynolds of Dallas registered three points in the opening two fixtures for the Crusaders. Reynolds score the lone goal for Dallas in a 2-1 loss against TLU in the season opener and then recorded an assist on the game-winning goal against Schreiner in double overtime last Saturday. Sophomore midfielder Fabrizio Policastro of St. Thomas scored a goal in the Celts 2-1 loss to Colorado College last Saturday. Junior forward Luis Green of Texas Lutheran scored a pair of goals in Thursday's conference road victory over the University of Dallas. It was Green’s 39th and 40th goals in his career.
