Men's Golf Recap (Week 3) - Around the SCAC

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. –  Just one Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference men’s golf team competed this week.

The Trinity University Tigers competed in the James S. Litz Memorial at The Republic Golf Club in San Antonio.

The Tigers recorded a two round score of 584 to finish second in the field, just three strokes behind team champion Indian Hills Community College. Trinity, who led the first round, finished ahead of the host NCAA Division I member University of the Incarnate Word by four strokes. All five of the Tiger golfers finished in the top 15. Diego Trevino carded the low round of the competition through the first 18, 68 (-3). Trevino slipped to sixth place after posting a 145 overall (+3). Alex Hartzell tied for 10th place with a mark of, while Redmond Lyons and Trevor Warner were right behind him in a tie for 12th place, carding identical 148 scores. Kalen Vos rounded out the Trinity squad, finishing in a tie for 15th with a 149. As a team, the Tigers also posted the lowest round of the competition, 288, through the first day.
