JOE JIMENEZ OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a junior shortstop from San Antonio, Texas, has been named the SCAC Baseball Hitter of the Week for games played from Saturday, February 21 through Sunday, February 27. SCAC Baseball Release - Week 3
Jimenez hit an outstanding .700 at the plate for the Bulldogs with seven hits, two extra base hits, and five RBIs as TLU posted a 2-1 mark on the week. Among is extra base hits were a double and a triple as he slugged 1.000 and also stole a base.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Junior outfielder Isaiah Hernandez of Schreiner went 10-for-14 at the plate (.714) with one double and five runs driven in as the Mountaineers won three of four games on the week. Junior utility Ezra Gore of Trinity spent last weekend in centerfield for the Tigers and was the difference maker in his team's 12-11 victory over Babson on Saturday as he posted a career-high five RBI on three hits, two doubles, and added a pair of walks. The third-year, dual-sport Tiger finished the weekend with a .500 average over 12 ABs adding three free passes. Senior first baseman Ben Bridges of Centenary went 4-for-4 with three RBI on Sunday afternoon in a 9-7 loss at La Verne. He a two-run double in the first inning and an RBI single in the eighth and later scored a run. First-year catcher James Vaquero of Southwestern was 3-for-4 with a stolen base in the Pirates' 10-2 loss to UT-Dallas.
