SUWANEE, Ga. – Trinity University sophomore forward Natalie Anderson and Texas Lutheran University sophomore guard Lauren Sansano were named to the D3Hoops.com Team of the Week for performances the week of December 11-17 it was announced on Tuesday.
Anderson led No. 10 Trinity to a pair of home wins in SCAC play over the weekend, defeating both Austin College and Dallas to improve to a perfect 4-0 in league play. Anderson averaged 16.0 points and 13.0 rebounds per game over the two victories, adding 2.5 steals and 1.5 blocks per game to her stat line. She connected on 86.7 percent (13-of-15) from the field and 75 percent (6-for-8) from the free throw line, and did all her damage despite averaging just 22.5 minutes per game. In Saturday's win over Dallas, Anderson had her best game of the weekend with 21 points and 20 rebounds, shooting 8-for-9 from the field and 5-for-6 from the line. She is the just the eighth Tiger player ever to score 20 points and 20 rebounds in the same game, though she is the first to do so since the 2007-08 season. This season, Anderson is leading Trinity with 18.8 points per game and 9.6 rebounds per game, as well as shooting a team-best 63.6 percent (63-for-99) from the field.
This marks the second National Team of the Week honor for Anderson, who was also named to the inaugural TOTW week last month. Anderson was also named SCAC Player of the Week on Monday.
Sansano finished just two points shy of her career high, scoring 22 points on 66 percent shooting and adding three assists as TLU defeated Colorado College in Colorado for the first time since 2019 and improved to 8-2 on the season. Sansano accounted for 42 percent of TLU's points in the game.
Sansano is the first Bulldog to earn National Team of the Week honors since Cierra Jordan earned the distinction in week five of the 2016-17 season.
