TYLER CAULEY OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a senior outfielder from Baytown, Texas, has been named the SCAC Baseball Hitter of the Week for games played from Sunday, April 5 through Sunday, April 11.
Cauley led the Bulldogs to a 3-1 week and to a 2-1 series victory at Dallas by hitting .529 with two home runs, nine RBI and six runs scored. Cauley was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and a home run in a road win over regional rival Concordia Texas. In the series against Dallas, he had a hit in every game and scored six runs and had seven RBI over the final two games of the series. He slugged his 34th and 35th career home runs this week to move into solo second place on the TLU all-time home run list. His on-base percentage for the week was .636 and his slugging percentage was .941.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
First-year infielder Jake Harris of Southwestern hit .545 (6-for-11) with two walks to drive in five RBIs and score four runs to help lead the Pirates to their first conference series sweep, defeating Centenary, who entered the weekend on an 18-game winning streak. Sophomore infielder/outfielder Hunter Pachal of St. Thomas was 5-for-7 (.714) at the plate with two doubles and three RBI as the Celts took two of three from Austin College. Junior infielder Jake Wisniewski of Trinity batted .467 over the Tigers' last four outings, scored four runs and drove in four more and notched a double and triple across his seven hits. The San Antonio-native posted a 3-for-5 performance at the plate in the Tigers' 6-0 midweek victory over University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and currently leads the nation's top-ranked team in batting average (.400), doubles (7) and triples (4). The junior infielder also cleanly executed four double-plays in the series victory over Schreiner without recording an error in the field.
