LOUISVILLE, Ky - The National Fastpitch Coaches Association released the 2020-21 Easton/NFCA Division III All-America Scholar Athletes Tuesday afternoon, and 34 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) student-athletes were recognized.
Over 8,800 student-athletes were named 2021 Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes, the Association announced. With the highest total in Association history, it marked the second consecutive year (2018-19) achieving the 8,000-plus plateau.
NCAA Division III led the way with 2,375 student-athletes earning a 3.5 grade-point average or higher for 2020-21.
Texas Lutheran, which posted the highest cumulative GPA in the SCAC of 3.61 (T42nd), was represented by 12 individual student-athletes earning All-America Scholar honors. Honorees from TLU include; McKay Bloxham, Lexi Coward, Sydney Cromwell, Bailey Hudgeons, Kelly Jurden, Casey Martin, Skylar Ouellette, Sydney Ouellette, Haley Padilla, Chassety Raines, Shelby Rodriguez and Ashlyn Strother.
Sporting a team GPA of 3.51 (T79th), Schreiner led the SCAC with 14 individual student-athletes earning recognition including, Kaylee Culpepper, Kesney Dunlevy, Carrie Fulton, Elicia Gonzales, Rebecca Gonzales, Rebecca Gownley, Bianca Gries, Marley Hilton, Kennedy Moody, Rylee Ohlhausen, Danielle Pedraza, Malorie Solis, Taci Tatum, Analysa Vasquez, Annie Wallace and Bri Wodtke.
St. Thomas rounded out the SCAC individual honorees with eight student-athletes earning All-American certificates. Ariana Brown, Emma Burris, Kayleigh Deakle, Emma Garrett, Zoe Jeffiers, Lindsey Longuet, Brenna Ruether and Samantha Wendel represented the Celts on the list.
