Trinity's Emerick and Hahn Place Second and Third in NCAA 3-Meter Diving

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Trinity University Tigers senior Hayley Emerick and sophomore Ruth Hahn placed second and third, respectively, Wednesday in 3-meter diving at the 2011 NCAA Division III Women's Swimming and Diving Championships.

Emerick, the defending NCAA 3-meter champion, registered a score of 458.20 in the final round at the University of Tennessee's Allan Jones Aquatic Center. She stood in second place in the earlier preliminary round, at 472.10.
 
The College of New Jersey sophomore Danica Roskos won the event, at 502.45. Roskos led Emerick after the prelims, by 13.80 points, with a 485.90.

Hahn, competing in her hometown of Knoxville, finished at 445.20. The Bearden High School graduate, in her first NCAA meet, scored 440.55 in the preliminary round, and stood in fourth place.

The two Tigers divers will next compete Friday on the 1-meter board.
