SCAC Lands Three Players on NSCAA All-American Team

KANSAS CITY Kan. - Trinity University Tigers senior midfielder Jordan Azar and junior forward Abby Loar along with senior forward Brittany Garr of Centre College have been elected to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Division III Women's Soccer All-America Teams.

Azar (Albuquerque, N.M./St. Pius X) made the All-America Second Team, and Loar (Littleton, Colo./Heritage) was named to the Third Team.
 
Only four schools, including Trinity, had multiple representatives on the prestigious teams: NCAA champion Hardin-Simmons, national runner-up Messiah, and Illinois Wesleyan.
 
Azar, an All-West Region and All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference honoree, accounted for seven goals (one game-winner) and 11 assists during the campaign. Loar was the Tigers' leading scorer, with 16 goals (five game-winners) and 11 assists. She was earlier named the SCAC Offensive Player of the Year, and to the All-West Region.

Trinity, led by seventh-year Head Coach Lance Key, completed the season with an 18-2-0 overall record, and was 10-0-0 in the SCAC. Trinity captured its fifth SCAC Championship under Coach Key's leadership, and 15th overall. Coach Key was honored by his peers as the SCAC Coach of the Year for the second straight time, and the fourth overall.

Garr (Louisville, Ky.) was selected to the 2010 National Soccer Coaches Association of America/Performance Subaru Women's NCAA Division III All-American Third Team. The Centre women's soccer team finished the season 15-4 overall, while taking second place in the SCAC with a conference record of 8-2.

Garr was named to the 2010 All-SCAC First Team and to the 2010 NSCAA/Performance Subaru NCAA Division III Women's All-Great Lakes Region First Team earlier this year. Additionally, she was named the SCAC Women's Soccer Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, September 6 through Sunday, September 12. She finished the season tied for third in the conference in points (30), fourth in goals (12), fifth in points per game (1.58) and goals per game (0.63), and tied for seventh in assists (6). The Colonels as a team finished the season ranked second in the conference in points (122), goals (44), and assists (34).
