MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Oglethorpe University junior forward Andrew Steioff has been named to the D3hoops.com men’s basketball Team-of-the-Week for games played from January 24 through January 30.

Steioff is one of only five men’s players nationally selected for the award bestowed by D3hoops.com, the premiere national news source for Division III men’s and women’s basketball.

Steioff had a perfect weekend to help guide Oglethorpe to back-to-back wins over Millsaps and Hendrix. On Friday, he connected on all ten of his field goal attempts to finish with a team-high 20 points to go along with 5 rebounds, 3 assists and three blocks. He picked up where he left off on Sunday, making all seven of his attempts from the field to finish with 16 points, 3 rebounds, 3 blocks and one assist.

For the weekend Steioff was 17 of 17 from the field while averaging 18 points per game, 4 rebounds per game, 3 blocks per game and 2 assists per game. He can challenge the NCAA record of 24 consecutive made field goals over the course of multiple games when the Petrels face Rhodes College on Friday.

At 8-3 in league play Oglethorpe is currently tied for second place in the SCAC East standings amongst teams who can qualify for a postseason berth. The Petrels are back in action for their final two home games of the season this weekend with Rhodes College at 8:00 p.m. (Homecoming) on Friday and Birmingham-Southern (16-1 overall record) at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday.
