The Stormy Petrels posted the low round of the day (309) to finish 29 strokes clear of second place Centre College and secure the program's 13th trip to the NCAA Tournament.

Playing on a brutally tough Ram Rock Course, senior Craig Stevenson led the way for Oglethorpe by posting a three-day total of 234 (+21) to come home in second place individually. He was one of four Petrels to record top-10 finishes as Patrick Cansfield (+30) came home 6th, Eric Quinn (+32) took 7th and Jordan Hall (+33) tied for 8th.

Anthony Amodeo, the only Petrel not in the Top-10, would have been in that group had he not been disqualified for mistakenly turning in the wrong scorecard after round one. Amodeo finished rounds two and three with successive 76's, the best final two-day score for the Petrels. He was, however, selected as the SCAC Freshman of the Year.

With the huge victory, Oglethorpe, ranked No. 9 in the most recent Nike / Golf World Coaches Poll, clinches their 13th berth to the NCAA Tournament. The 2011 NCAA Championship will take place in Greensboro, N.C. May 10-13.

All five Petrels in the starting lineup took home hardware for their outstanding individual efforts. Amodeo was named SCAC Freshman-of-the-Year, Stevenson earned All-SCAC first-team honors and Cansfield, Quinn and Hall each earned All-SCAC second-team nods.

Centre College's Chris Morris earned first-team All-SCAC honors and was named SCAC Men's Player of the Year after he earned indvidual medalist honors during the three day tournament. He shot a one-under par (70) on championship Sunday. Rounding out the rest of the All-SCAC first-team was Rhodes College's Bill Bazzel, Southwestern University's James Charles and Trinity University' Tyler Lehmann.

The All-SCAC second-team included the Oglethorpe trio along with DePauw University's Ryan Berra, Millsaps College's Drew Richardson and Southwestern's Cameron Button. Additionally, Centre's Patrick Davidson was named All-SCAC honorable mention.
