ADDISON LEHEW OF CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY (TEX.), a senior designated player from Deer Park, Texas, has been named the SCAC Softball Hitter-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, March 10 through Sunday, March 16. SCAC Softball Release - Week 6

Lehew was outstanding in leading Concordia to a three-game series sweep over Centenary at home last weekend. She posted a blistering .778 batting average, going 7-for-9 with at least two hits in all three contests and multi-RBI in two of the three games. Lehew finished the week with five RBI, four doubles, three runs scored a .700 on-base percentage and an outstanding, 1.222 slugging percentage. 

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
First-year infielder Reagan Brinkley of Austin College had a big weekend at the plate to help the 'Roos win two out of three at Dallas, batting .545 with a .727 slugging percentage. Brinkley scored four runs and had two doubles while also driving in five runs, including a career-best five RBI in the series clinching win on Saturday afternoon. First-year Breyanna Jones of Schreiner hit .500 (4-for-8) to lift the Mountaineers to a series win over non-conference foe Howard Payne last week. In three games, Jones drove in two runs, scored once, accounted for four stolen bases and slugged .556 to help Schreiner take two of three off of HPU. Junior infielder Emily Nevarez of Southwestern has a solid week at the plate helping the Pirates post a 3-2 record, including a non-conference split with Rochester and an SCAC series win over McMurry. Nevarez batted .545 (6-for-11), including .750 in league action, with five runs scored, three doubles, two RBI and two stolen bases. She finished the week with an .818 slugging percentage and didn’t strike out once. Junior catcher Chloe Bennett of St. Thomas hit .400 on the week, going 4-for-10, with a home run, a double, one RBI and two runs scored as the Celts dropped two of three against conference opponent TLU. Junior catcher Taylor Vannett of Texas Lutheran was the Bulldogs’ most consistent hitter last week in leading TLU to a 4-1 mark including a two-game sweep over non-conference opponent Rochester and a conference series win over St. Thomas. Vannett hit .600 (9-for-15) with a pair of multi-hit efforts, a triple, five RBI, three runs scored and three stolen bases. She posted a .563 on-base percentage and a .733 slugging percentage on the week. Senior outfielder Leah Gonzalez of Trinity led the Tigers to a 4-1 record last week, splitting a doubleheader against Rochester and then sweeping a three-game SCAC series over the weekend. Gonzalez batted .462 (6-for-13) for the week, playing in four of the team's five games. She finished with two runs scored and three RBI, hitting a double and two home runs to go with three singles. Gonzalez went 2-for-3 with a homer in game two against Rochester, then went 2-for-4 with a double in the opening game against Ozarks. In the series clincher over Ozarks, Gonzalez was 2-for-3 with a homer in the 5-0 win.
