ISABELLA CEPEDA AND KAYLA PENA OF CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY (TEXAS), have been selected as the SCAC Women’s Doubles Team of the Week for matches played from Monday, January 27 to Sunday, February 2. SCAC Women's Tennis Weekly Report - Week 1
Cepeda, a junior from Georgetown, Texas, and Pena, a graduate student from Rio Grande City, Texas, were superb in a pair of matches for the Tornados. The tandem went 2-0 this week with a pair of 6-2 victories on court one against University of Dallas & Lewis & Clark. CTX swept Dallas by a score of 7-0, while Pena & Cepeda's 6-2 triumph over Lewis & Clark helped propel the Tornados in a 4-3 win.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Senior Olivia Kim and graduate student Ellie Hughes of Trinity led the 14th-ranked Tiger women's tennis team to a 7-0 shutout over Lewis & Clark (Ore.) College in Saturday's 2025 season opener. The Tiger duo scored a 6-0 win from line two to start off the doubles action, which eventually finished with a sweep for Trinity.
