COLLIN BRUNING OF MCMURRY UNIVERITY (TEX.), a first-year first baseman from Abilene, Texas, has been named the SCAC Baseball Hitter of the Week of the Week for games played from Monday, February 24 through Sunday, March 2. SCAC Baseball Release - Week 4

Bruning batted .700 (7-for-10) with seven runs scored and five runs driven in to lead the War Hawks to a 4-0 last week, which included a three-game road conference sweep at Schreiner. Bruning, who also walked five times, had an on-base percentage of .778. 

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior utility Brayden Sprencel of Texas Lutheran was 10-for-20 (.500) with seven runs scored, two doubles, one home run and 10 RBI as the Bulldogs went 3-2 in five games last week, which included taking three of four from Hardin-Simmons. First-year outfielder Jordan Coronado of Southwestern went 8-for-15 (.533) with five runs scored, one double and nine RBI as the Pirates went 3-1 last week, which included a three-game conference sweep against Ozarks. The freshman had two or more RBI in each game last week. Senior outfielder Maddox McDonald of Trinity led the 15th-ranked Tigers to a 3-1 week of SCAC play, finishing off a three-game sweep of Texas Lutheran on Monday, then taking two out of three on the road against Concordia over the weekend. McDonald hit .313 for the week, collecting five hits in 16 at-bats while adding two runs and two RBI. Senior shortstop Jobee Boone of Centenary led the Diamond Gents to a series win at home over St. Thomas as he hit .357 with a .471 OBP and slugged .857. Boone had five hits, two doubles, a triple, a home run, five runs scored, two walks, and four RBI. Last Monday in a DH at Austin College, he was 2-for-7 with a home run, two RBI, a BB, and three runs scored. Junior third baseman Joseph Hardin of Ozarks had a three-hit game with five RBI against Lyon College on February 25.
