KENDRA HUMPHRIES OF MCMURRY UNIVERSITY, a sophomore from College Station, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Women’s Field Athlete of the Week for meets held from Monday, March 3 through Sunday, March 9. SCAC Track & Field Weekly Release - Week 2
Humphries took top honors in both the shot put and the javelin at Thursday's Hardin-Simmons/Nelson/McMurry Tri-Meet on the campus of HSU. Humphries won the shot with a toss of 42' 2 3/4" and the javelin with a distance of 124' 7". The sophomore also placed fourth in the hammer (109' 9").
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior Erin Capell of Colorado College posted a pair of top 10 results at the outdoor season-opening Oxy Distance Carnival Saturday in Los Angeles. She finished sixth in the shot put (37' 1/2") and ninth in the discus (106' 3").
