"Bobby did an excellent job as our Head Women's Soccer Coach and Coordinator of Recreational Services. We are saddened to see him leave Rhodes, but we are excited for his opportunity at the University of Missouri - St. Louis," said Mike Clary.

Lessentine came to Rhodes in 2002 to serve as the Coordinator of Recreational Services and began working with the Women's Soccer Program as an assistant coach during the fall of 2003. He was named SCAC Coach of the Year twice (2005, 2008) and was named NSCAA/adidas South Region Coach of the Year in 2008. His teams have finished in the top four of the SCAC standings each of the last 4 years, culminating in a SCAC Championship in 2008 - Rhodes 1st in 17 years and the program's 1st NCAA Tournament appearance. The Lynx have been ranked in the top 25 each year reaching a program high of #10 in 2008. Bobby has coached one NSCAA/adidas All-American (the first in program's history), six NSCAA/adidas all-South Region selections, one SCAC Defensive Player of the Year, one SCAC Offensive Player of the Year, one SCAC Newcomer of the Year and 22 all-SCAC selections. His teams also produced 55 SCAC Honor Roll recipients, four NSCAA/adidas team academic awards and one NSCAA/adidas Academic All-American.

Lessentine graduated from Rhodes in 1998 with a degree in art and architecture studies. He played four seasons where the Lynx made three NCAA Tournament appearances. Bobby served as team captain in 1997 when he led Rhodes to its first win in NCAA post-season play. He was a three-time all-SCAC selection, a first team all-South Region selection, and was also named Most Valuable Player of the men's team during his senior year.

"I'd like to thank Rhodes and Coach Clary for the opportunity to return to the College in 2002 and for my opportunity as the Head Women's Soccer coach in 2004," said Lessentine. "It has been a pleasure to serve my alma mater and I am proud of what we've accomplished during the past four years. I know Rhodes will hire a great person to lead the program and the next coach will inherit a great group of players."
