MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Senior shortstop J.R. Bizzell
of Rhodes College became just the 21st player in SCAC history to
record 200 hits, picking up the milestone safety in Tuesday's 19-3
victory over Christian Brothers.
Bizzell is the third player from Rhodes to reach 200 career hits in
the SCAC era, following former teammates Richard Hurd (244 hits)
and Daniel Vanaman (241) who hit the milestone last season.
Bizzell went 1-for-2 on Tuesday, with his 200th hit coming in
the 2nd inning - a run-scoring single to center field that
gave Rhodes a 3-0 lead.
