SCAC Trending Competition Results (Week 14)

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference announces the University of Dallas as the new winner of the #SCACTrending contest.

After remaining in the top three over the last three weeks, including two in the second spot, the Crusaders have finally earned their first win of the contest since it began in September of this year. UD accumulated 286 points over the last two weeks to win, including 212 on Twitter, the highest total of any team.

Coming off of three consecutive weeks in the top spot, the Texas Lutheran Bulldogs were bumped to No. 2, earning 252 points. The Bulldogs continued their successful reign on Instagram, however, leading the pack with 124 points, almost twice as much as any other team.

Holding onto their third spot is the Colorado College Tigers, who narrowly beat Austin College this week. The two schools posted nearly identical scores, coming in just one point apart – CC with 117, AC with 116. Schreiner University remained in the mix as well, just seven points out of the third spot, earning 110 this week.

Centenary College, Southwestern University and Trinity University rounded out the group in sixth, seventh and eighth, respectively.

The points are tallied each week based on the usage of a school specific hashtag. For every time the hashtag is used on Twitter, one point is earned. Each time the hashtag is used on Instagram, the institution will earn two points.

The winner of #SCACTrending each week will choose one or more student-athletes to take over the  SCAC Instagram account for the following weekend.
