ADDISON LEHEW OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ST. THOMAS, a first-year utility from Deer Park, Texas, has been named the SCAC Softball Hitter-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, March 21 through Sunday, March 27. SCAC Softball Release - Week 8
Lehew was outstanding at the plate last weekend for the Celts, leading St. Thomas to its second-straight SCAC series sweep, this time over Austin College. She finished the series with a .667 batting average, going 6-for-9, with two multi-hit games and registering at least one hit in each contest. Lehew drove in five runs, scored twice, finished with on double and drew three walks for an on-base percentage of .750. Her 10 total bases were good enough to post a 1.111 slugging percentage in the series.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior outfielder Kaylea Patridge of Centenary had a big weekend at the plate for the Ladies as she helped the Maroon and White to a three-game series sweep over Dallas at home. Patridge hit .363 (4-for-11) in the three games with two RBI, four doubles, and drew a walk. She also scored two runs and stole two bases. First-year infielder Haley Pair of Schreiner had the key hit in the Mountaineers 6-1 win over Trinity last weekend, driving in two runs on a double. Senior second baseman Casey Martin of Texas Lutheran was once again a steady presence on the base paths for the Bulldogs in their three-game series against Southwestern. Martin boasted a .538 average against the Pirates with five RBI on seven hits, stealing three bases and scoring three runs. Martin currently leads the SCAC in batting average and on-base percentage. Sophomore third baseman Marina Delaluna of Trinity went 5-for-10 at the plate with two doubles, one RBI, one stolen base, and four runs scored to life the Tigers to a series victory over Schreiner last weekend.
