St. Thomas' Aleman Named D3Soccer.com All-American

SUWANEE, Ga. – D3Soccer.com announced the Men’s Soccer All-American team last week and University of St. Thomas’ Taty Aleman was named Third Team All-American.

This marks the twelfth year that D3soccer.com has recognized the top men's and women's players from across the nation. The teams were chosen by D3soccer.com staff, informed by analytics, input from Division III soccer coaches and other knowledgeable sources, and our first-hand viewing. From a pool of over five hundred men’s candidates based primarily on conference honors, approximately 100 players were identified and “short-listed” for All-America consideration. Our men’s teams were drafted from this elite group of student-athletes.

Aleman, a junior forward from Houston, Texas, led the SCAC with 20 goals and 45 points on the year. A First-Team All-SCAC selection, Aleman added five assists and finished with an SCAC best 91 shots, including a league-high 52 on goal. He is just the second SCAC athlete since 2004 to reach the 20-goal plateau in a single season and his 45 total points is the most since Matt Fechter of Colorado College registered 47 in 2012. Aleman finished the year tied for eighth in all of NCAA Division III in both goals and points.

Aleman helped guide St. Thomas to a historic run, winning the SCAC Tournament for the second consecutive season and making a run to the Third Round of the NCAA Tournament.

Earlier this year, Aleman earned First Team USC All-American honors.
