Tran, a sophomore from Houston, Texas, and Velasco, a first-year from Baytown, Texas, showcased their skills winning both matches over the weekend. Against Dallas, the duo picked up a line two victory, 8-2, and against LeTourneau they earned an 8-5 victory at line three.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Senior Ellie Hughes and first-year Rosabella Andrade of Trinity scored an 8-1 win at No. 3 doubles to help the 11th-ranked Tigers' women's tennis earn a 9-0 shutout win over the University of California-Santa Cruz over the weekend. Junior Daniella Rodriguez and first-year Mackenzie Griffin of Schreiner went 2-1 at No. 2 doubles for the Mountaineers, earning victories over duos from Sul Ross and Texas Lutheran.
