ERIN LEWIS OF CENTENARY LEWIS, a senior catcher from Leesville, La., has been named the SCAC Softball Hitter-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, February 14 through Sunday, February 20. SCAC Softball Release - Week 3
Lewis had a fantastic weekend for the Ladies in the 2022 Warrior Spring Fling hosted by Hendrix College in Conway, Ark. She batted .461 (6-for-13) with two homers, two doubles, six RBI, and had 14 total bases. Lewis walked three times and did not strike out at all in the four games during the weekend in leading the Ladies to a 2-2 record. Lewis delivered a walk-off home run to left field to give the Ladies a 4-3 win over Westminster (Mo.) on Saturday. She is batting .526 on the season with an OBP of .625 and is slugging over 1.000.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior outfielder Elicia Gonzales of Schreiner hit .250, going 2-for-8 at the plate as the Mountaineers split a pair of games against non-conference foe Sul Ross St. last week. Junior catcher Kathryn Dull of Southwestern hit .308 (4-for-13) with a double and walk in four contests last week for the Pirates. Sophomore catcher Laura Hernandez of Texas Lutheran hit .500 last week in a doubleheader against Division-II St. Mary’s, going 3-for-6 at the plate. Senior second baseman Sammie Whitman of Trinity went 2-for-6 at the plate with one stolen base and accounted for the Tigers only run in a doubleheader against Sul Ross St.
