Dylan Lamb, University of St. Thomas, Hitter of the Week (Week 11)

DYLAN LAMB OF UNIVERSITY OF ST. THOMAS, a senior outfielder from  Vacaville, Calif., has been named the SCAC Baseball Hitter of the Week for games played from Monday, April 15 through Sunday, April 21. SCAC Baseball Release - Week 11

Lamb was outstanding at the plate last weekend for St. Thomas, leading the Celts to a key SCAC series win over Schreiner. Needing to keep pace to try and clinch a spot in the SCAC Tournament, Lamb batted an impressive .643 at the plate, going 9-for-14 with seven RBI and seven runs scored. Lamb accounted for six extra base hits, highlighted by a three triples performance in the rubber match victory on Saturday. He is just the third different player in SCAC history to hit three triples in one game, the first since 2005 and the first to do so in an SCAC contest. He drew two walks during the series to post an outstanding .706 on-base percentage and accounted for an overwhelming 1.500 slugging percentage.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:

First year first baseman Alex Miller of Centenary had another solid week for the Diamond Gents in a home doubleheader against LeTourneau followed by a road series at TLU, hitting .316 (6-for-19) with a home run, two doubles, seven RBI, four walks, and six runs scored. He did not strike out in the five games last week, had an OBP of .417 and slugged .579. Senior outfielder Maxwell Mims of Southwestern led the Pirates to a three-game sweep on the road against Austin College. Mims hit .429, going 6-for-14 with two home runs, five RBI and four runs scored. Mims added two walks to post a .500 on-base percentage and stole two bases, while posting an impressive .857 slugging percentage over the series. With his two stolen bases, Mims has now tied the Pirates’ program record with 79 career bags swiped. Sophomore shortstop Chase Bourgeois of Texas Lutheran led the Bulldogs to a key series win at home against Centenary last weekend, keeping TLU in the race for a spot at the SCAC Tournament going into the final weekend of regular season action. Bourgeois hit .636, going 7-for-11 with five runs scored, four RBI a double and a triple. In addition, Bourgeois walked twice to post an impressive .692 on-base percentage and posted a .909 slugging percentage. Senior infielder Cristian Holloway of Trinity led the Tigers to a 3-1 record last week, including the SCAC weekend series win against Dallas. Holloway batted .357 (5-for-14) for the week, scoring two runs and driving in six more to lead the Tiger offense. He had a double and a home run among his five hits, finishing the weekend by going 2-for-3 with three RBI in Trinity's series-clinching 10-0 win over Dallas.
