Ryan Culp, Austin College, Pitcher of the Week (Week 4)

RYAN CULP OF AUSTIN COLLEGE, a senior right-handed pitcher from Midland, Texas, has been named the SCAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week for games played from Monday, March 8 through Sunday, March 14. 

Culp needed just 63 pitches to earn a complete game win over Mary Hardin-Baylor on Saturday, surrendering five hits and one earned run while striking out two over 7.0 innings in the 3-2 victory.

For the season, Culp in 2-0 in 15.1 innings with 13 strikeouts and has allowed just four earned runs for a 2.35 ERA (fourth in the SCAC).

Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Senior right-hander Corey Cater of Trinity worked two games in relief, picking up a win while pitching 6.0 innings. He allowed just five hits and one earned run with nine strikeouts. Senior right-hander Conner Poche of Centenary picked up the win in game two of the Gents' doubleheader sweep at home last Friday over LeTourneau as he did not allow a run or hit in his five innings of work with a walk and two K's. With the win, Poche improve to 2-0 on the season with an 0.82 ERA. Senior right-hander Eric Moore of St. Thomas worked 5.1 innings of relief in two appearances, allowing four hits and one run while striking out four and walking three. He earned the win in Friday's 12-11 victory over Belhaven, allowing one earned run in 4.0 innings of work. Senior right-hander Trey Schwarz of Southwestern pitched 4.1 scoreless innings against UT-Dallas, allowing only three hits and one walk with two srikeouts to pick up the win. Senior right-hander Chase Cutler of Texas Lutheran notched a save with 3.1 shutout innings in the Bulldogs' 19-4 Friday night victory over East Texas Baptist. Cutler allowed just one hit in the outing. He struck out three and walked three. Graduate right-hander Josh Gilliam of Schreiner made two appearances on the week, working 2.0 innings and allowing no earned runs with four strikeouts. First-year right-hander Graeme Williams of Dallas pitched in Friday's extra inning loss to Howard Payne University as part of a three-game non-conference series. He allowed no runs on two hits and a walk, while he also fanned five out of relief to keep the Crusaders 5-4 lead at the time down the stretch.
