KAM HOGAN OF AUSTIN COLLEGE, a senior guard from Memphis, Tennessee, has been named SCAC Men’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games played from Friday, January 15 through Saturday, January 16.
Hogan led the ‘Roos in scoring both nights in a weekend sweep of the University of Dallas, helping Austin College get through the opening weekend of the season as the only 2-0 team in the conference. Hogan averaged 22.0 points on 50 percent shooting from the field, and added 5.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.5 steals-pergame.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore guard Kaleb Jenkins of Trinity, led the Tigers to a road weekend split against SCAC preseason favorite St. Thomas to open up the season. Jenkins averaged 14.0 points/game and shot 53.8 percent from the field in his two games off the bench. First Year forward Adam Kanafani of St. Thomas, led the Celts averaging 15.5 points and 11 boards in his fi rst ever collegiate weekend. Senior Caleb Lister of Texas Lutheran, led TLU to a 1-1 split over the weekend in road games against Centenary. Lister averaged 12.5 points and 8.0 rebounds per game. Sophomore Forward Seth Thomas of Centenary, led the Gents posting a double-double on Friday, scoring a game-high 18 points in 27 minutes and grabbing a team-best 11 rebounds. Junior Forward Letrell Toussaint of Dallas, Toussaint gained career-highs in points (19) and rebounds (18) in the season opener against Austin on Friday.
