PARKER PRIMEAUX OF CENTENARY COLLEGE, a sophomore right-handed pitcher from Lake Charles, La., has been named the SCAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week for games played from Monday, March 1 through Sunday, March 7.
Primeaux made an appearance in all three games of the non-conference weekend series against Dubuque and pitched 5.2 scoreless innings. He allowed just two hits with four strikeouts and did not walk a batter while picking up saves in two of his three outings.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
First-year right-hander Harrison Durow of Trinity took the mound in the midst of a game-opening rally at Hardin-Simmons for his second collegiate relief appearance and immediately took control of the Cowboys' bats. The Tiger rookie allowed just three hits over five and two-thirds innings while he struck out seven to earn his first collegiate victory. Sophomore right-hander Landon Murray of St. Thomas picked up the win in a 16-3 victory over Dallas Christian on Friday. Murray worked 5.0 innings, allowing four hits and one earned run while striking out five and walking four. Senior right-hander Nolan Tenpas of Texas Lutheran pitched three strong innings of relieve in a 12-7 comeback home win over Southwestern. He struck out five and walked just one against the Pirates. He also pitched a scoreless inning against Mary Hardin-Baylor in the TLU road win. Sophomore left-hander JJ Slack of Southwestern struck out eight with only two walks and two earned runs in 6.0 innings of work against Texas Lutheran. Junior right-hander Tyler Montemayor of Dallas logged 3.0 innings in the scheduled seven-inning contest and worked around a pair of hits and walks and allowed a lone unearned run. The junior also fanned three.
