LAUREN TRAYLOR OF AUSTIN COLLEGE, a senior forward from Fort Collins, Colo., has been named the SCAC Women’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, January 15 through Sunday, January 21. SCAC Women's Basketball Release (Week 11)

Traylor had a big all-around weekend for Austin College as the ‘Roos picked up two crucial SCAC wins, averaging 14.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.5 steals-per-game while shooting 46.7 percent from the field, 42.9 percent from beyond the arc, and 85.7 percent from the free throw line. She scored a career-high 19 points in a road win at Centenary, and followed with a 10-point, 12 rebound double-double in a big win at St. Thomas. Traylor’s efforts lifted the ‘Roos to back-to-back wins for the first time since February 2022.

Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore guard TaNyjah Plumber of Centenary had another impressive weekend for the Ladies as she averaged 16.0 points per game, reaching double figures in scoring for the 10th and 11th times this season and has done so in eight-straight games. Plumber scored a team-high 19 points on Saturday against Dallas as she was 6-for-17 from the floor, 2-for-4 from beyond the arc, and 5-for-7 from the free throw line in 38 minutes with seven rebounds, three steals, and two assists. On Friday against Austin College she scored 13 points in 29 minutes with three rebounds, a trey, and was 4-for-4 from the free throw line. Junior guard Nariyah Buggs of Schreiner led the Mountaineers to a pair of key SCAC wins last weekend defeating Texas Lutheran and Southwestern at home. She averaged 15.5 points on 63.2 percent shooting and added 3.0 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 1.5 assists per contest. First year guard Macie Whitfield of St. Thomas emerged as a standout presence for the Celts during the two SCAC matchups against Austin College and Dallas last weekend. She delivered consecutive stellar performances, notching double figures with an impressive 12 points in each game. Beyond scoring, she demonstrated remarkable versatility, contributing an average of eight rebounds per game, along with three assists and a notable steal. Junior guard Kailee Mulkey of Texas Lutheran averaged 14.5 points on 31.4 percent shooting in a pair of tough road losses last weekend for the Bulldogs. Mulkey also averaged 7.5 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 0.5 assists per contest. Sophomore guard Kylie Minter of Trinity led the Tigers to double-digit SCAC home victories over both Southwestern and Texas Lutheran over the weekend. Minter averaged 15.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.5 steals per game in the two Tiger wins. She also shot 71.4 percent (10-of-14) from the floor - including 66.7 percent (6-for-9) from three-point range - and 83.3 percent (5-of-6) from the foul line. Minter capped the weekend with 19 points, six rebounds, two assists, and two steals in Saturday's win over Texas Lutheran. She hit 7-of-10 from the field and nailed 5-of-7 three-pointers in that game, and the 19 point-game is her best scoring night as a Tiger.
