Trinity Slides in D3hoops.com Top 25

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Trinity University's women's basketball team fell eight spots to No. 25 in the latest D3hoops.com Top 25 after splitting a week of conference competition. 

The Tigers fell to Texas Lutheran University 65-55 before beating Southwestern University 60-46 a day later. Trinity is currently tied for second on the conference leaderboard with a 3-1 SCAC record and a 12-3 overall mark. They trail Austin College who sits comfortably at 5-0 in SCAC play. 

The Tigers are currently leading the league in defensive points allowed (56.5), steals (11.3 per game), and 3-point field goals made (7.1 per game). This season, Trinity has held opponents to a league-best 32.1% shooting.

Junior guard Monica Holguin leads Trinity in scoring and is currently shooting 40.7% from the field for 13.2 points per game. Senior forward Anecia Richardson is close behind with 11.7 points per game on 51.5% shooting. 

The Tigers continue conference play this week against Schreiner University, the University of Dallas and Austin College
