MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – After splitting last week's contests to Division I competition, the 19th-ranked Trinity University women's basketball team maintained their spot in the D3hoops.com Top 25.

Division I Houston Baptist University handed Trinity its first loss of the season after the program's strongest start since the 2009-10 season. The Tigers answered two days later downing another Division I opponent, the University of Incarnate Word 61-55. The win marked just the third victory by a Division III women's basketball program over a Division I school since 2003.

Trinity's Monica Holguin was named SCAC Player-of-the-Week after her career-best 24 points helped the Tigers over the Cardinals. Overall, the Tigers shot 41% from the field and 37% from beyond the arc. Trinity is currently leading the league in defensive points allowed (54.1), steals (10.6 per game), blocked shots (5 per game) and 3-point field goals made (7.6 per game).
