Colorado College's Frank, Trinity's Whitman Named SCAC Runners of the Week

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – Senior Graham Frank of Colorado College's men's cross country team and freshman Melissa Whitman of Trinity University's women's cross country team have been named SCAC Runners of the Week for their performance this past weekend.

 

 

 

 

 

SCAC MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY RUNNER OF THE WEEK
Meets through Sunday, October 5th

GRAHAM FRANK OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a senior from West Linn, Ore., has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week for meets run through Sunday, October 5th.

Frank led the Tiger men's cross country team to a seventh-place finish at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational in Claremont, Calif. this past weekend among a mix of Division II, III, and NAIA schools.

Frank finished 24th out of 182 runners with a time of 26:07 for the 8K, his highest finish of the season in the 8K, breaking his previous mark of 26:43 just last week. 

This is the second straight week Frank has been named SCAC Runner of the Week.

 

SCAC WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY RUNNER OF THE WEEK
Meets through Sunday, October 5th

MELISSA WHITMAN OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a freshman from Carrollton, Texas, has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Cross Country Runner-of-the-Week for meets run through Sunday, October 5th.

Whitman led Trinity to a ninth-place finish among top-notch competition at the Arkansas Chile Pepper Festival this past weekend.

Whitman was second among Tiger runners, finishing less than three seconds behind top Trinity finisher Michelle Oberndorf. Whitman's time of 18:45.8 ranks in the top 10 among all-time records at Trinity. In high school,

Whitman's personal record was over 19 minutes.
