LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Five of the eight SCAC men's cross country teams were in action this past weekend.
Austin College
The 'Roos men competed at the Hardin-Simmons Stampede this past
weekend. Austin College did not have enough runners to
qualify despite a 12th place finish from Chris Burke, who came in
with a time of 22:00.62. The 'Roos will take two weekends off and
return to action on October 11th at the East Texas Baptist
Invitational.
Colorado
College
Behind a 12th place finish by senior
Graham Frank, the Colorado College men's cross country
team finished sixth in the College Division of the Cowboy Jamboree
Saturday in Stillwater, Okla. Frank, who also led the Tigers at the
CC Invitational last week, covered the 8k circuit in a season-best
time of 26 minutes, 43.46 seconds. Sophomore
Conor Terhune was second among CC runners and
25th overall with a time of 27:45.11, followed by
junior Jacob Rothman in
39th position with a 28:07.67. The
Tigers will split the team next weekend and compete at the
Pomona-Pitzer Invitational (Claremont, Calif.) and the Metro State
Invitational (Denver, Colo.).
Schreiner University
The Schreiner University men's cross country team did
not place this past weekend as the Hardin-Simmons Stampede, but got
a great performance from Keving Perez, who finished 32nd with a
time of 24:41.54 followed by Connor Ver Schuur with a 34th place
finish and a time of 25:01.14. The Mountaineers will take a week
off, but return to action on October 11th as teh Incarnate Word
Invitational in San Antonio, Texas.
Southwestern University
Alex Medrano paced the way for the Southwestern
University men's cross country with a top 10 finish at the
Hardin-Simmons Stampede. Abraham Devenport was the
second Pirate to cross the finish line with a time of 24:25.76 and
was followed by Kyle Bauernschmitt at
24:54.09. Southwestern will take a week off before
heading south for the Incarnate Word Invitational in San Antonio
October 11th.
Texas Lutheran University
The Texas Lutheran men's cross country team posted a
ninth-place team finish Saturday in the 46th annual Codfish Bowl
Cross Country race. Travis Koenig and Bond
Birkner led the Bulldogs with finishes of 59th
and 60th, respectively. Koenig crossed the lin in 29 minutes, 58
seconds. Birkner came home in 30 minutes flat. The Bulldogs will
return home this upcoming weekend as they host the Texas Lutheran
Inviate.
Centenary, Dallas, and Trinity did not compete this weekend.
